DO I REALLY HAVE TO DO THIS?
Posted right at the top of the main whiteboard in the offices is my daily goal – “Make a difference in One persons life”.
Sure, we all know, we have to work, bring in an income for the company. We have a job to do. In your case, part of that job is putting together the next event. Do I really have to do that?
What we need to do is inject our passions into each task. That can be a changing moment, indeed.
Lisa Earle McLeod wrote a book called “Selling with Noble Purpose, how to Do Work That Makes You Proud”. My takeaway from this book is that it really isn’t about selling. It is about bringing my passion to the forefront.
Lisa shares a story about a pharmaceutical rep who had a patient approach her, and tell her how the drug she represented made a difference in the patients life. That one interaction changed her whole focus on why she did what she did.
This book isn’t just about personal growth. It has some great insights into working with your team, together, as well.
If you want your next event to really make an impact on the guests, consider this. Bring your passion into the equation. Look at the event from their viewpoint. If you put your focus on the guests, and how your event can make a difference to them, your event will be successful.
Let your passion come to the surface!
What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it.

“How interesting. What’s his favorite trick?”
“He saws people in half.”
“Gosh! Now, next question. Any brothers or sisters?”
